The River Center Announces Leadership Transition
Picture
I feel very fortunate to get to work with The River Center’s fine, committed Board, its equally compassionate staff, its many enthusiastic volunteers and supporters," says Butler. "This team’s commitment is the foundation upon which we will build the future. I am eager to drive strategic initiatives and foster collaborations that will elevate our organization to new heights and continue to make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.”
The River Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Odette Butler will take over as Executive Director of The River Center, a family and community resource center. She succeeds Margaret Nelson, who is retiring after 15 years of dedicated leadership.

Odette Butler brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and human services. For 17 years she served as CEO of the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska (BCDC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Previously, she has worked as a Care Coordinator for seniors, and most recently she served as Executive Director of Vermont Wilderness School, providing outdoor education programs for children and adults. Butler resides in Hancock, NH.
